Abstract:
This study is about the role of taxation in a developing economy. It was observed in the study that taxation plays a crucial role in promoting economic activity and growth. Through taxation, government ensure that resources are channelled towards important projects in the society. Data were collected from sampling the population of the study. A total number 142 were interviewed and given questionnaires. While the tools used to analyse the sampling population is simple percentage. It was concluded that tax is an important source of revenue generation which aids economic growth of Nigeria. The following recommendations were better by training tax personnel in the area of tax, code of conduct should be made available and mechanisms must be provide by government to follow this code of conduct in addressing the issue of corruption.
