Abstract:
This study aims to evaluate the implementation of differentiated instruction within the Merdeka Curriculum by Social Studies Change Agent Teachers (guru penggerak) at the junior high school level in Banyuwangi Regency. Using the discrepancy evaluation model, this research involves five change agent teachers who have completed the Teacher Education Program. The research method employs an evaluative approach with an analysis of lesson plan documents and classroom observations over five weeks. Data were collected through observations, documentation, and unstructured interviews. The results show that the objectives of differentiated instruction have been adjusted to meet students' needs, but the integration of students' interests still requires improvement. Intensive training has proven effective in helping teachers develop instructional steps, although the use of technology and the variation of teaching methods still need enhancement. Differentiated instruction activities have generally been conducted well, but aspects of reflection and the use of technology need further attention. The gap analysis reveals the need for improvements in the use of technology and the diversification of teaching methods. This study recommends further training in technology integration, diversification of teaching methods, and enhancement of instructional reflection to optimize the implementation of differentiated instruction in Banyuwangi Regency.
