Abstract:
Entering the current era of digitalization, the traditional Balinese performing art "drama gong" is still in existence. This is proven by the emergence of the Drama Keraton Jayaprana involving Balinese young people (net generation). This article discusses the Drama Keraton Jayaprana (Jayaprana Palace Drama), a model of net generation drama gong. Data collection was carried out through observations of Drama Keraton Jayaprana broadcasts on Bali TV and YouTube, in-depth interviews with artists and gong drama fans in Denpasar and Gianyar, and documentation studies by reviewing the story of the Jayaprana drama gong produced by Bali TV (2020). The data obtained were analyzed by applying semiotic theory and symbolic interactionism theory. The research results show that the drama keraton Jayaprana is a digital version of the drama gong produced by Bali TV (2020). This drama gong model depicts the story of Jayaprana, involving the internet generation, using contemporary dialogue, the result of multi-party collaboration, accompanied by the latest gamelan and stage settings, and enriched with more fashionable make-up and clothing. Apart from that, digital technology applications are applied in the packaging and distribution/distribution of art products (Jayaprana palace drama) through digital media (TV and YouTube channels). As an effort to pass on Balinese cultural values ??to the next generation, this innovative drama gong involving the net generation should be developed.
