Abstract:
This research aims to determine the relationship between metacognitive skills and critical thinking skills of students in learning history through the application of inquiry based learning. This research is quantitative research using a survey method with a correlational research design. The population in this study were class XI students at SMAN Jenggawah and 1 class was taken as a sample (XI-2) which was selected using the cluster random sampling technique. The relationship between metacognitive skills and critical thinking skills is measured by looking at the correlation coefficient of 0.621 which is classified as strong and the linear regression equation of ? = 23.172 + 0.844X which is obtained from the analysis results. The results of this research show that there is a relationship between metacognitive skills and critical thinking skills in history learning through the application of the inquiry based learning model, namely linear, positive and significant.
