Abstract:
This research explores the nexus between strategic orientation and organizational health of manufacturing SMEs in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The research design used for this work is the Quasi-experimental design. The population of the study consists of 15 Manufacturing SMEs in Port Harcourt. The sample size was 126 employees of the Manufacturing SMEs under review. Bases on the outcome, the researcher found that strategic orientation attributes such as entrepreneurial orientation and market orientation has a substantial influence on goal focus behavious and resource allocation among Manufacturing SMEs in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Based on the research findings, the researcher recommended that: Manufacturing SMEs should invest in developing strategic orientation capabilities via means such as conducting environmental scanning, establishing intelligent units and designing contingency plans. Manufacturing SMEs should pay attention to improving goal focus and resource utilization. Manufacturing SMEs should be aware of the moderating effect of environmental dynamism on the relationship between strategic orientation and organizational health.
