Abstract:
Effective inventory management is essential for organizations, and handling it well can greatly improve their operations. This paper looks at using a blockchain-based system to fix problems in traditional inventory systems, specifically at Federal Polytechnic Kaltungo. The current manual system at the Polytechnic is time-consuming and prone to mistakes, leading to issues with tracking, storing, and managing inventory. To overcome these limitations, we suggest using a blockchain system that leverages Ethereum's technology and smart contracts to boost transparency, accuracy, and efficiency. The proposed system integrates a decentralized application (DApp) using the Truffle framework and Web3 library, with MetaMask for secure account management. Testing on public test networks, such as Goerli, confirms the system's reliability. This approach not only improves real-time visibility and accuracy in inventory tracking but also automates processes, reducing human error. The study highlights the potential of blockchain technology to revolutionize inventory management across educational and non-educational institutions, paving the way for more efficient and secure inventory solutions in the future.
