Abstract:
Utilization of CO2 that is a greenhouse gas and released from industrial waste flue gases and H2 produced from renewable sources such biological fermentation; methanol can be produced at conditions further economic and environmental effective. This study is focusing on developing an efficient process technology that have the ability to use CO2 streams and convert them into liquid products with high energy content. A rigorous industrial process flowsheet has been proposed and developed on commercial simulation software using operating conditions range for methanol production real process design. Then, using the process model, different influences of the process variables through a parametric sensitivity study to achieve optimum reaction temperature and pressure, and effect of recycle route of unreacted gases on methanol reactor performance. Utilizing of interactive simulation software such Comsol Multiphysics(r) to analyzes the CO2 hydrogenation reaction kinetics, catalyst pellets performance with a remarkable insight into mass transport behavior. Additionally, energy analysis, environmental evaluation and determining carbon emissions balance to achieve process feasibility and sustainability targets.
