Abstract:
The research investigates the relationship between agribusiness success in Rivers State, Nigeria, and opportunity identification and risk-taking activities. Using a standardised questionnaire, information was gathered from 369 representatives of 18 agribusinesses that were registered with the state. Improving opportunity detection skills may boost financial, market, and operational success, according to the study's somewhat favourable correlation between opportunity recognition and agribusiness performance. Similarly, a large positive correlation was shown between risk-taking efforts and the success of agribusinesses, indicating that encouraging a culture of strategic investments and measured risk-taking may improve company performance as a whole. The research highlights that in order to promote development and sustainability, agribusinesses must have strong systems for identifying opportunities and promote risk-taking. Developing a culture of innovation, making strategic investments, making decisions under uncertainty, and putting in place thorough risk management frameworks are just a few of the recommendations. The results highlight how crucial it is for long-term performance and competitive advantage to include opportunity detection and risk-taking activities into strategic planning procedures.
