Abstract:
Corruption is a pervasive issue that significantly undermines public trust and confidence in government institutions. This article explored the complex relationship between corruption and public trust, examining how corrupt practices erode citizens' confidence in their leaders and institutions. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature, the article highlighted the mechanisms through which corruption affects public perceptions, including the role of institutional trust, the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures, and the impact of transparency. The findings suggested that addressing corruption is essential for restoring public trust and enhancing the legitimacy of government institutions.
