Abstract:
Dictionaries are often viewed as simple repositories of definitions and words. In fact, they offer a much richer and more diverse landscape in lexicography. This article grills into typological exploration of dictionary types. It reveals the specialised domains hidden within their covers. The study also explores the distinctions ranging from general to specialised dictionaries by examining how resources are tailored to meet the demands of language learners, lexicographers, professionals, linguists and language users in general. This exploration highlights the remarkable range of dictionaries available to serve specific linguistic needs, professional needs, and specialised interests.
