Abstract:
This study investigated the relationship between employee continuance commitment and organizational performance of sterling bank in Delta State, Nigeria. The study employed a cross-sectional survey research design, the hypotheses testing research design was used. The study was anchored on the effective event theory. The population of the study was the forty five (45) employees of the sterling bank branch office in Delta State, Nigeria. This population was fully studied. Forty five copies of the questionnaire were distributed to the respondents after the pilot study, forty one (41) copies were used for the analysis. Data were analyzed with the help of univariate and bivariate statistics, the Pearson product moment correlation (PPMC) was used with the aid of the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS), version 25.0. The findings of the study revealed that, employee continuance commitment has positive and significant relationships with the measures of organizational performance; productivity and customer services. Thus, we concluded that employee continuance commitment significantly improve organizational performance. The study recommends that, management of sterling bank should extend reward, recognition and exceptional condition of service to staff. This will ensure employee continuance commitment and significantly improve organizational performance.
