Abstract:
This article examined the impact of fishing on Learners' behavior mechanism in Primary Schools in Katwe Sub-Region, Kasese district. It examined the behavior mechanism among Learners, find out challenges faced by school administrators in handling Learners' behavior mechanism and to determine the influence of fishing activities on Learners' behavior mechanism. A total of 105 respondents were involved in the study who were purposively selected and stratified random sampling was used to select them. Sources of Primary data were structured questionnaires and interview guides. Analytical techniques used where descriptive statistics means was used to analyse quantitative data, tables and percentages were used to enhance data analysis. The results of this research show that fishing and its related activities negatively impact on Learners ' behavior mechanism, i.e. these activities are the main causes of bad behavior mechanism among learners. Recommendations include National Policy be put in place to restrict school going ages in fishing and non-government organizations to fund education and provide scholarships for higher education to ease the suffering of teenagers who fish to support and finance their Education.
