Abstract:
Three phase Induction Motor (IM) drives are now extensively used in position and variable speed control applications due to simple construction, low weight and advances in power electronics and microprocessors. This paper has been attempted to presents the Comparative study of Adaptive Inverse Control (AIC) and Sliding Mode Controller (SMC) for speed control of IM. Performance of these techniques has been verified through simulation results using MATLAB/SIMULINK software. The system is tested under variable operating conditions. From the comparative simulation results, SMC gives the better performance, such as lower rise time, lower settling time, and no overshoot compared to AIC. This shows the superiority of SMC over AIC.
