Abstract:
This work examined the impact of National Universities Commission (NUC) Accreditation on Quality of Education in the Public Univ-ersities in Anambra State: A Study of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University. Etzioni's (1961) Compliance Theory was used as the support base for this work. This theory applies to only normative, utilitarian and coercive organizations. The population of the study is 1590and the researcher used the entire population because the size is manageable. Simple random sampling technique was also be adopted. Data was collected from both primary and secondary sources such as books, internet materials, and periodicals. Using quantitative method, the researcher employed the survey design. Chi-square was used for the test of the hypothesis. Mean and standard deviation were employed to answer the various research question, and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) helped in the analysis. However, the finding was that there is no significant relationship between the funding role of the NUC and the effective management of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University. Based on the finding, the researcher recommended inter alia that: The government should increase the funding of public universities.
