Abstract:
This study investigated on the effects of PowerPoint Presentation to the academic achievement and interest of Grade V pupils in Elementary Science of Namnam Elementary School, San Fernando II district during the school year 2013-2014. The PPT lessons covered the second grading topics of Grade V science which include the following: vascular plants, avascular plants, photosynthesis, plant adaptation, and role of plants and animals in the environment. The study used pretest-posttest non equivalence quasi- experimental design. The experimental group was taught with PowerPoint presentation while the control group was taught with the conventional (lecture) method. A pretest was given to both groups at the beginning before the teaching of the five chosen topics in science. After the groups were taught with the five chosen science topics, posttest was administered to both the control and the experimental group. Mean, standard deviation and One-Way Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) were used to treat the data.
