Abstract:
This study investigates the significant role of adequate love-making in achieving work-life balance (WLB) in an increasingly demanding society. Defined as the dynamic interplay between work and personal life, WLB is essential for overall well-being and productivity. Intimate relationships, mainly characterized by emotional closeness and physical intimacy, significantly reduce work-related stress and enhance personal satisfaction. This research synthesizes existing literature, highlighting how love-making fosters emotional connections and supports mental health by releasing neurochemicals that reduce stress and improve interpersonal trust. Despite the established benefits, a notable gap exists in empirical research, specifically examining the direct correlation between love-making frequency and quality with WLB outcomes. Cultural attitudes, societal norms, and the implications of technology further complicate this dynamic, particularly in diverse settings such as Nigeria. The findings underscore the importance of nurturing intimate relationships to enhance personal and professional well-being. Future research directions are proposed, including exploring workplace policies supporting intimate relationships and longitudinal studies to assess the evolving impacts of love-making on WLB over time. This study emphasizes the need for organizations to recognize and support the interplay between personal relationships and work dynamics, thereby fostering healthier workplaces and promoting employee satisfaction and productivity.
