Abstract:
This study examines the recent amendments to the Labor Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, focusing on their legal, economic, and social implications. The reforms aim to modernize labor legislation, enhance worker protections, and align national labor regulations with international standards. Key changes include stricter employment termination rules, the legalization of remote and flexible work, stronger anti-discrimination policies, and the introduction of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. Using a comparative legal analysis and labor market data, the study evaluates the impact of these amendments on employment stability, workforce participation, and business operations. The findings indicate that the reforms contribute to a more structured and secure labor market, reducing informal employment and increasing workforce inclusivity. However, challenges remain in enforcement and adaptation, requiring further regulatory adjustments and employer support mechanisms. This research provides policy recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of labor law reforms in Uzbekistan.
