Abstract:
This case report aims to highlight the significance of early prenatal screening in detecting congenital anomalies and its implications for pregnancy management. We present the case of a 20-year-old primiparous woman at 14 weeks' gestation, whose obstetric ultrasound revealed a large omphalocele, increased nuchal translucency (NT), a poorly defined spine, and abnormal heart positioning. These findings strongly suggested a chromosomal disorder or genetic syndrome. The patient was admitted for the management of a threatened abortion and experienced a spontaneous miscarriage within 12 hours of admission.
