Abstract:
This study explores the impact of strategic human resource (HR) practices on building high-performance work cultures and their influence on organizational success in Nigeria. By examining the interplay between strategic HR practices-such as selective hiring, comprehensive training and development, performance-based compensation, and employee involvement-and key organizational outcomes, the research highlights the critical role of HR in fostering employee engagement, innovation, and productivity. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to provide a comprehensive understanding of the research problem. Findings reveal that organizations with robust HR practices are more likely to achieve superior performance outcomes, including higher profitability, customer satisfaction, and employee retention. However, challenges such as limited resources, competition for talent, and issues of fairness in performance evaluation processes were identified as barriers to effective implementation. The study concludes with a major recommendation: organizations should prioritize strategic HR practices that enhance employee engagement and align with organizational goals, while addressing contextual challenges to build sustainable high-performance work cultures and achieve long-term success.
