Abstract:
This article explores conics in Euclidean space, highlighting their geometric beauty and their ability to model real-world phenomena. It examines the application of Euclidean concepts when studying conics in semi-Riemannian Minkowski spacetime, where the geometry is extended with a broader notion of completeness. The study further investigates the geometric properties of ellipses, hyperbolas, and parabolas in Minkowski planes, building on and extending traditional Euclidean concepts. A key result includes the proof of a theorem about the orthogonality of Minkowskian ellipses and hyperbolas when using polygonal norms
