Abstract:
This study analyses independent music production concerning its uniqueness, the technology employed, and the knowledge utilised in the process, as well as the practices of artistic entrepreneurship within the music industry. Independent music creation is perceived as a genre-specific endeavour limited to isolated and disparate individuals or communities without financial and technological capabilities, aimed at generating a richness of innovative work and entrepreneurial opportunities. This study emphasises how independent producers, artists, and musicians enhance their recording and promotional capabilities by fervent dedication, innovative marketing, and a profound aspiration to link their particular concepts with a universal audience. This paper examined the intricate ideological, industrial, and entrepreneurial factors that have led to substantial growth in Do-It-Yourself (DIY) music production practices and distribution, employing a phenomenological technique for data collection. The findings and conclusions indicate that the emergence of independent music production anticipates significant transformations in the global current music industry, hence presenting innovative production, marketing, and collaborative economic models for enhanced practices within the music industry worldwide.
