Abstract:
This research interrogates the dialectical relationship between economic pedagogical interventions and financial capability development among emerging adults in Vietnam's transitional economic landscape. Employing a multi-method investigative approach, this study examined how structured economic education influences both cognitive financial literacy acquisition and behavioural investment patterns across socioeconomic strata. Results reveal that economic pedagogical frameworks significantly enhance financial capability through three distinct causal mechanisms: cognitive schema reconstruction, psychological risk calibration, and socio-cultural norm navigation. The findings demonstrate that targeted educational interventions produced differentiated effects across urban-rural divides, with urban participants exhibiting accelerated adoption of digital investment platforms while rural participants demonstrated greater resilience in traditional saving behaviours. Notably, the research identified critical threshold effects in financial knowledge transformation, whereby participants required comprehensive understanding of interconnected economic concepts before demonstrating sophisticated investment behaviours. This study contributes to theoretical advancement by developing an integrated socio-cognitive model of financial capability development that synthesises behavioural economics, educational psychology, and developmental theory within Vietnam's unique transitional economic context. The research carries significant implications for curriculum development, financial inclusion policy formulation, and the design of targeted interventions to enhance economic participation among emerging adults in transitional economies.
