Abstract:
This study examined the relationship between formalization structure and employee work attitude in deposit money banks in Rivers State. The study examined eight (8) banks, and a population and sample size of eighty (80) was obtained through purposive sampling technique. Three research objectives guided this study and the corresponding four hypotheses were formulated. The Pearson Product Moment Correlation was employed as the analytical tool in testing the formulated hypotheses. The study revealed that formalization structure was positively and significantly related to job satisfaction, employee commitment and employee engagement. The study concluded that departmentalization structure directly relates to managerial agility. The study recommended that, deposit money banks should create detailed procedures for everyday tasks, decision-making processes, and problem-solving, as this will enhance employees' job satisfaction.
