: This study explores the impact of digital traceability in the extractive industries of the DRC, highlighting its role in combating illegal mining and corruption. Through technologies like blockchain and AI, Smart Mining enhances governance, supply chain transparency, and revenue optimization. However, its effectiveness depends on a strengthened legal framework, collaboration among stakeholders, and adequate infrastructure. The study identifies key challenges, including weak political will and resistance from illegal trade actors. It recommends a stringent regulatory framework, real-time monitoring platforms, and greater involvement of local communities.
