Abstract:
This article examines the linguistic and stylistic intensification devices deployed by Khaled Hosseini in his novel "The Kite Runner" (2003). Through a systematic analysis of selected passages, this study identifies how Hosseini employs various intensification strategies to heighten emotional impact, establish character dynamics, and emphasize pivotal narrative moments. The research reveals that Hosseini's strategic use of intensifiers serves multiple functions: reinforcing the novel's central themes of guilt and redemption, emphasizing cultural and historical context, and creating a distinctive narrative voice that bridges Afghan and Western literary traditions. The findings suggest that intensification functions as a key component of Hosseini's narrative technique, contributing significantly to the novel's emotional resonance and thematic depth. This analysis provides insight into how linguistic intensification operates as both a stylistic choice and a fundamental narrative device in contemporary multicultural literature.
