Abstract:
This article is devoted to studying the role of local historical sites, ancient cities and mausoleums in the development of historical thinking among students. The article analyzes the pedagogical significance of historical sites, the methodological foundations of their use in the educational process, and their role in the formation of students' historical thinking. The study describes interactive methods, excursions and projects used to effectively convey historical knowledge to students based on local historical sites. The article considers it important to use methodologically high-quality pedagogical approaches, various methods and innovative technologies to improve students' historical thinking. The results of the study showed that lessons based on historical sites and monuments not only expand students' historical knowledge, but also develop their analytical and critical thinking skills. As a result, the use of local historical sites in school education serves as an effective tool for developing students' historical thinking. The article also puts forward proposals for the widespread introduction of such methods.
