Abstract:
Occupational stress has become a serious topic globally as it affects both the organization and the employee. It affects the physical, mental, psychological, and behavioral well-being of the employees. It also affects the employee's productivity and the overall performance of the employee and the organization. Because of this global phenomenon and its various effects, it is very vital for the researchers to conduct a study that aims to determine the relationship of occupational stress and employees' performance at Holy Cross College in Sta. Ana, Pampanga. In this study, the researchers used a descriptive - correlational research design. An adopted questionnaire was employed for the one hundred and fourteen (114) employees of Holy Cross College. Through Pearson R Correlation, it was found out that occupational stressors had significant relationship on task performance and contextual performance. Overall, occupational stress had a significant relationship with employee performance. In addition, occupational stressors, role conflict, and work-family conflict, were identified as the independent variables that had a dominant influence on task performance and contextual performance. This research study gave an awareness and realization that occupational stress in the workplace should be recognized.
