Abstract:
This study investigated corporate social responsibility programmes of Mobile Telecommunication Network (MTN) Nigeria, Ibadan Zone. The study made used of quantitative research design method using the survey research design with the aid of questionnaire which was used for data collection. The population of the study are employees of MTN Nigeria. A sample size of 185 respondents were used for the study while data analysis was done with the aid of SPSS software 25.0 using percentages and frequency tables, mean and standard deviation. The finding revealed that MTN Nigeria's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives have played a significant role in contributing to the socio-economic development of communities across Nigeria. Furthermore, some of the challenges facing MTN Nigeria in implementing its CSR strategies include lack of long-term sustainability mechanisms in CSR projects, limited community involvement in the planning and implementation phases of CSR projects and government bureaucracy. The study recommends that Nigeria government should formulate policies that will make CSR and businesses enterprises to thrive in the country
