Abstract:
This study investigated the impact of digital transformation on traditional print media: adaptation strategies and revenue model shifts in Nigeria. The study made used of quantitative research design method using the survey research design with the aid of questionnaire which was used for data collection. The population of the study are all the media practitioners from the Lagos Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalist. A sample size of 120 respondents were used for the study while data analysis was done with the aid of SPSS software 25.0 using percentages and frequency tables, mean and standard deviation. The finding revealed that digital transformation has reduced dependence on physical printing and distribution processes. Furthermore, it was revealed that skills gap among media practitioners (X =3.38, SD = 1.64), frequent power outages (X =3.81, SD = 1.62) and lack the financial resources to invest in modern digital tools (X= 3.19, SD = 1.53) are some of challenges faced by Nigerian print media in implementing digital transformation initiatives. The study recommended that media companies ought to invest more in digital infrastructure, such as data protection, mobile platforms, analytics tools, and content management systems.
