Abstract:
This article discusses literacy and cultural identity among Generation Z, particularly in the context of preserving Banyuwangi culture. Generation Z, born between 1995 and 2010, faces challenges in maintaining cultural identity amid the influence of globalization. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to explore the role of cultural literacy in building identity awareness among this generation. The findings indicate that activities such as integrating folk tales and the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Program (P5) significantly enhance students' understanding of local cultural values. Despite challenges like foreign cultural influences, this study recommends developing more effective educational programs to support cultural preservation through literacy. These findings are expected to provide insights for educators and policymakers in designing programs relevant to the needs of Generation Z in Banyuwangi.
