Abstract:
:This study explores the relationship between population dynamics and social vulnerability to flood disasters in Ambulu District, Jember Regency, using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained through document analysis and previous research studies published between 2020 and 2025. The results show that rapid population growth, informal settlements in flood-prone areas, economic disparities, and vulnerable groups such as the elderly and people with disabilities, significantly increase the risk of flooding. Although mitigation efforts have been carried out by local agencies, the lack of inclusive and participatory planning remains a challenge. This study emphasizes the importance of integrated planning, community-based preparedness, and spatial-demographic approaches in disaster risk reduction.
