Abstract:
In the digital era, English language teaching has increasingly shifted toward virtual environments, necessitating innovative pedagogical approaches to maintain effectiveness. One such approach is Contextualized Task-Based Instruction (CTBI), which combines the communicative strengths of task-based learning with real-world contextualization. This paper explores how CTBI supports the development of real-life speaking skills in online English classrooms. Drawing from existing literature and empirical observations, the study argues that integrating contextually relevant tasks can significantly enhance learner engagement, authenticity of communication, and overall fluency. The findings highlight the importance of designing tasks that mirror real-world communicative scenarios, promoting both linguistic competence and pragmatic awareness.
