Abstract:
This study explores the awareness of Mabalacat City College (MCC) students regarding financial aid programs offered by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), emphasizing the importance of such programs in mitigating financial barriers to higher education. The objective is to assess students' awareness levels, identify influencing factors, and examine how they access information about these programs. Using a quantitative research design, the study surveyed 352 randomly selected students, analyzing their demographic profiles, awareness levels, and sources of information. Results reveal that while students are generally aware of CHED financial aid programs, knowledge of specific initiatives, such as the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and CHED Merit Scholarship Program, remains limited. Social media and school announcements emerged as primary information sources, though gaps in clarity and accessibility persist. The study concludes that enhancing communication strategies, through targeted outreach and interactive platforms, is essential for improving awareness and ensuring equitable access to financial aid opportunities for students.
