Abstract:
Culinary tourism is becoming an important driving force in the global tourism industry and has great potential in Vietnam, especially in traditional craft villages. However, this potential has not been effectively exploited due to many barriers such as weak infrastructure, lack of promotion and policy coordination. Therefore, this study is necessary to assess the impact of culinary tourism on local economic development and propose sustainable development solutions in traditional craft villages. This study uses quantitative research method through a survey with 382 business owners and operators in traditional craft villages across Vietnam and will be processed by SPSS 27 to test the hypotheses. The findings indicate that local authority support, tourism infrastructure, labor skills, community participation, shop investment and innovation, and marketing innovation significantly bring positive impacts on local economic development in Vietnamese traditional craft villages. The study highlights strengthening the role of government, upgrading infrastructure and training, promoting community participation, supporting small business innovation, and promoting creative marketing to develop sustainable culinary tourism in traditional craft villages.
