Abstract:
The use of anesthesia in pediatric dentistry presents a critical intersection between effective pain management and patient safety. Due to physiological and psychological differences between children and adults, anesthesia techniques in pediatric dental practice require special attention. This paper explores the challenges associated with both local and general anesthesia in children, emphasizing risks such as allergic reactions, respiratory complications, and dosage inaccuracies. Through a comprehensive literature review and analysis of clinical methods, the study outlines the safest and most efficient anesthetic strategies for children. Materials and methods include clinical observation, patient monitoring, and pharmacological assessment. The results demonstrate that while general anesthesia offers comprehensive sedation, local anesthesia remains preferable in minor procedures to reduce systemic risks. The discussion delves into ethical considerations, parental consent, and long-term implications for pediatric oral health. The paper concludes by recommending evidence-based approaches, practitioner training, and protocol standardization to enhance safety outcomes in pediatric dental care.
