Abstract:
This project presents the development of a mobile-based Smart Food Ordering System intended to digitize the food ordering process in restaurants. Built using Flutter for the frontend and Django REST Framework for the backend, the system offers features for both customers and restaurant managers, including menu browsing, real-time order tracking, and restaurant management functionalities. The system was developed to address inefficiencies in traditional ordering systems by offering a faster, more accurate, and contactless solution. The full development process included system requirements (functional, non-functional, hardware, and software), system architecture, UI/UX input and output design, and database schema. It also described the tools used, coding strategies, and challenges encountered during implementation, followed by comprehensive system testing procedures, the results from system testing and user feedback confirms that the system met its intended objectives and highlights strengths such as secure authentication, real-time performance, and role-based access. Limitations are discussed, including the absence of payment integration and offline features, followed by suggestions for improvement.
