Abstract:
This study examined the influence of critical thinking on Delta State University students' adoption of AI innovations in Biology education. A quantitative research design was used, with data collected from a sample of 300 students through structured questionnaires. Findings revealed that critical thinking significantly influenced students' willingness to adopt AI tools, with a strong positive correlation between critical thinking ability and perceived usefulness of AI innovations. Additionally, different levels of critical thinking skills impacted students' engagement with AI-driven learning tools, with high and low critical thinking levels showing significant effects. The study underscores the importance of integrating critical thinking development into the curriculum to enhance students' ability to effectively adopt and utilize AI technologies. Recommendations include the need for professional training for educators, policy frameworks for ethical AI use, and investments in AI infrastructure. These findings provide valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and institutions seeking to optimize AI adoption in Biology education.
