Abstract:
This study examines the preliminary stakeholder perspective of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management community-driven environmental initiatives "PROJECT ALON" through four core themes: Community Engagement, Environmental Sustainability, Project Development, and Personal Growth. The findings demonstrate that active involvement from students, volunteers, and local residents fosters collaboration, strengthens community bonds, and promotes shared responsibility. Student participation, guided by dedicated volunteers and supported by institutional partnerships, plays a central role in the success of activities such as clean-up drives, waste segregation, and environmental education campaigns. These efforts not only improve local environmental conditions but also cultivate awareness and encourage long-term behavioral change. The study emphasizes how these projects are made more sustainable and relevant by careful planning, efficient execution, and ongoing assessment. Significant personal improvement is also reported by participants, including increased motivation to serve in the future, better environmental awareness, practical skill development, and improved leadership ability. These encounters help people individually and also support the initiatives' overall positive effects on the community at large. The study's overall findings highlight the value of community-based, integrated approaches to environmental concerns. It demonstrates how bringing together institutional and educational support with civic engagement can result in significant, long-lasting change. According to the findings, it is important to enable people and communities to actively participate in sustainable development.
