Abstract:
Thymolipoma is a benign tumor composed of thymic elements and adipose tissue. They are often asymptomatic, and their presentation with myasthenia is exceptional. A 17-year-old patient had experienced fluctuating muscle weakness for one year. Clinical examination revealed bilateral ptosis. The electromyogram showed a neuromuscular block of myasthenic type, and the chest CT scan revealed no abnormalities. A thymectomy through sternotomy was performed. Pathological examination of the mass confirmed the diagnosis of thymolipoma. The course of myasthenia remained stable with a follow-up of 18 months.
