Abstract:
: The study investigated the relationship between supply chain strategy and organizational resilience of servicing firms in Rivers State, Nigeria. The main problem that necessitated this research is the inability of servicing firms in Rivers State to use robust supply chain strategy capable of mitigating risks associated with disruptions caused by natural disaster, political conflicts or market fluctuations in order to maintain operational continuity in the industry. In conducting this research based on the objectives, four research questions and four hypotheses were asked and formulated respectively. The cross sectional survey design was adopted and a population of 198 managers and supervisors of 20 servicing firms were covered. 132 respondents were drawn from the population and the simple random sampling technique was utilized. Copies of questionnaire were used in gathering data from respondents. Supply chain strategy was measured using strategic supplier partnership and information sharing while organizational resilience was operationalized using adaptability and agility. Data was analysed using Spearman Rank Order Correlation Coefficient. The findings revealed that there exist a significant positive relationship between the dimensions of supply chain strategy and the measures of organizational resilience. The research concluded that supply chain strategy help to mitigate risks and enhance firm's performance improving both adaptability and agility of servicing firms in Rivers State, Nigeria. The study thus recommended that; the servicing firms should establish enduring robust supply chain strategy that will enhance adaptability in response to market and operational changes.
