Abstract:
Vietnam's industrial sector is heading to cleaner industrial power but faced with a problems: rooftop solar energy is growing aggressively, but the development of energy storage systems (ESS) is drawn back by the absence of regulatory policies, grid integration protocols, and a lack of sustainability deployment models. This study discusses institutional and strategic to the successful pairing of ESS with solar power in Vietnam's industrial parks. This research focus on policy document analysis, expert interviews, and cross-regional case studies, the reports describe deployment barriers and establish conditions for company who want to lower carbon emission or electric bill. The study concludes that apart from finance, notable limitations include the lack of technical guidelines, inadequate coordination between local authorities and utilities, and low awareness among industrial operators of ESS operational benefits. It's also suggesting three viable deployment models-developer-owned, utility-partnered, and hybrid ownership-that are compatible with Vietnam's evolving energy governance. Following the recommendation of a policy-based framework for implementation in the industrial sector, this research offers strategic recommendations to facilitate ESS adoption at scale and complement solar energy investment with flexibility and agility towards sustainable energy transition.
