Abstract:
This paper investigated the relationship between employee commitment and organizational performance within the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) in South East Nigeria. Recognizing that public sector organizations often grapple with performance challenges, the paper explores how employee commitment influences the operational effectiveness and efficiency of FIRS between 2015 and 2024. Employing a qualitative content analysis approach, the study draws evidence from official documents, policy reports, staff communications, and existing empirical studies. Findings reveal that employee commitment is a key determinant of organizational performance, enhancing revenue generation, service delivery, and institutional credibility. The study concludes that sustained employee motivation, professional development, and effective leadership are essential in leveraging commitment for optimal performance outcomes.
