Abstract:
Globally, entrepreneurship has become a new paradigm in the academic world and alternative solution to geometric increase in graduate unemployment predominantly ravaging the developing economy of developing countries like Nigeria. This study examined the undergraduates' demographic characteristics (gender, University type and age) and entrepreneurial intention among undergraduates in public universities in South-West, Nigeria. Descriptive survey research type was adopted and multistage sampling technique was used to draw the sample size. Data was collected from 1200 undergraduates in six selected first-generation public universities in South-West Nigeria with adapted questionnaire. Data analysis was done with IBM-SPSS STATISTICS 23 to obtain the frequency count, percentages and test the three hypotheses using t-test approach. The findings revealed that there is significant difference in entrepreneurial intention among undergraduates in the Federal and State universities. However, there is no significant difference in undergraduates' entrepreneurial intention based on gender and also age groups in the selected universities.
