Abstract:
The study investigated smart innovative training strategy for Agricultural Education lecturers for effective job delivery in tertiary institutions in Rivers State. Three specific objectives and three research questions guided the study. The study adopted the descriptive survey design. The targeted population of the study was all forty (40) Agricultural Education lecturers in all the public tertiary institutions in Rivers State. It is a census study, as the study adopted the whole forty (40) Agricultural Education lecturers as the sample of the study because of the manageable size of the population. The instrument for data collection contained fifteen (15) item statements, titled "Smart Innovative Training Strategy for Agricultural Education Lecturers for Effective Job Delivery Questionnaire". It was validated by two experts, one from the Test and Measurement unit of the Department of Counselling and Educational Psychology and the other from the Department of Agricultural Science Education, Faculty of Education, Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State. To ascertain the reliability of the instrument, the Cronbach Alpha Coefficient Method was used and a reliability index of 0.73 was obtained and was adjudged reliable. The data collected were analyzed using mean statistics and standard deviation. The study found that the utilisation of AI-supported instructional design tools for lesson optimisation enhances Agricultural Education lecturers' effective job delivery in tertiary institutions in Rivers State. The study concluded that the integration of AI-supported instructional design tools significantly enhances Agricultural Education lecturers' planning, lesson delivery, and overall instructional effectiveness. As such, it recommended that lecturers in Agricultural Education should be regularly trained in AI-supported instructional design tools to enhance lesson planning and delivery, as this will improve teaching quality and overall job effectiveness.
