Abstract:
The Kamuina Nsapu insurgency (2016-2017) caused lasting disruption to the stability of Central Kasaļ in particular and the wider Grand Kasaļ region in general, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. More than eight years after the end of the violence, humanitarian organizations continue to report deep and persistent socio-economic and institutional consequences. This study offers a computational statistical analysis of institutional and media discourses related to post-conflict dynamics. Drawing on a multi-source corpus composed of reports from non-governmental organizations, United Nations agencies, and international media outlets, a complete text-mining pipeline is applied. The findings reveal the predominance of specific post-conflict factors as well as strong structural relationships among them. Finally, the study proposes a typology of post-conflict discourses and discusses its implications for the design and orientation of public policies.
