Abstract:
This study explored the impact of financial management on the entrepreneurial intentions of micro and small restaurants located in the Kampala Capital City Authority markets (KCCA) area of Uganda. The research identified crucial financial management practices that these restaurateurs engaged in, emphasizing the necessity for effective financial strategies in fostering entrepreneurship. A cross sectional design was employed and data was collected from a sample of 300 participants who were mainly restauranters. The questionnaire was the main tool for collecting respondents' perceptions and views. By employing both qualitative and quantitative methods, the study concluded that adequate financial management significantly enhanced the entrepreneurial intentions and sustainability of these establishments. This was evident were the results showed that financial management contributed 30% in entrepreneurship intentions of micro and small restaurants in KCCA markets. The study recommended restauranters to ensure financial management as it facilitates savings and savings support entrepreneurship intentions which translates into viable actions then growth.
