Abstract:
This study examined the relationship between teachers' demographic and professional profile and their culturally responsive teaching practices in handling Blaan students in selected schools in South Cotabato and General Santos City during the first semester of Academic Year 2024-2025. Specifically, the study analyzed how age, sex, highest educational attainment, field of specialization, ethnicity, religion, years of college teaching, and years of teaching Blaan students relate to teaching practices in terms of innovative teaching, instructional materials, teaching strategies, student engagement, and culturally responsive assessment. Using a descriptive-correlational research design, data were gathered from 50 teacher-respondents through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using frequency, percentage, and Pearson r correlation. Findings revealed that most respondents were young female educators, bachelor's degree holders, and education specialists with 3-5 years of teaching experience. Results further showed that several profile variables, particularly educational attainment, ethnicity, religion, field of specialization, and teaching experience, significantly influenced culturally responsive teaching practices. Positive relationships were strongest in innovative teaching, instructional materials, and student engagement, while mixed and negative relationships were observed in culturally responsive assessment. Therefore, it concludes that Bridging Culture and Education: Culturally Responsive Teaching Among Blaan Students fosters a deeper understanding of the intersection between culture and education, and provides a compelling evidence of the meaningful impact of teachers' demographic profile on culturally responsive teaching practices. The findings further reveal how professional preparation, teaching experience, and cultural awareness work together to bridge the gap between education and the unique needs of Blaan students
