Abstract:
Digital access has become a must for students who pursue higher education in this contemporary time. This research investigates student discontentment and major obstacles to the digital approach in a public university environment with reference to the University of Rajshahi. A mixed-methods approach is employed because quantitative data is complemented by qualitative data to gain insights into students' experiences with digital materials. The analysis reveals continued obstacles that include financial constraints, insufficient institutional support, relatively low internet connectivity and reduced accessibility to sophisticated digital resources. These obstacles make learning less effective and compound existing disparities in education between students. Limited training and low-quality digital service delivery are preventing students from engaging with digital learning platforms in a meaningful way. The study highlights that colleges have a role to play in providing stable digital systems, applications and services along with affordable access, as well as specific education on advanced digital applications. The brief also contains pragmatic ideas on how to fill existing gaps and make the digital learning environment better overall. By providing policy-relevant empirical perspectives, this article makes a contribution to the current debate about inclusive, equitable and student-centered digital access in higher education, specifically at resource-constrained public universities.
