Abstract:
The rapid development of communication technology and media digitalization has transformed public information consumption patterns, challenging public radio to remain relevant in the digital era. At the same time, public broadcasting institutions are expected to preserve local cultural values amid globalization. This study examines the importance, patterns, and implications of dialogical communication based on local wisdom in the Mozaik Indonesia program at Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Denpasar. Using a qualitative descriptive-interpretive approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature review involving broadcasters, program managers, resource persons, academics, community leaders, and listeners. The findings reveal that dialogical communication grounded in Balinese local wisdom serves as an effective strategy for maintaining the relevance of public radio. The program functions not only as an information channel but also as a participatory public sphere that encourages audience engagement through interactive discussions, telephone calls, WhatsApp, social media, and other digital platforms. Its communication pattern integrates Balinese values such as Tri Hita Karana, Tat Twam Asi, Menyama Braya, mutual cooperation, and the Subak system. Furthermore, media convergence through radio broadcasting, live streaming, podcasts, YouTube, and social media expands audience reach and strengthens cultural preservation. The study concludes that dialogical communication based on local wisdom enhances public participation, reinforces cultural identity, and supports inclusive public communication in the digital age.
