Abstract:
This study examines the complex interplay between downsizing, employee morale, and organizational culture within the context of organizational restructuring and economic pressures. While downsizing aims to enhance efficiency and competitiveness, it often adversely impacts employee well-being and disrupts organizational cohesion. The study buttresses the critical role of organizational culture in buffering or amplifying the effects of workforce reductions, emphasizing the importance of transparent communication, participative management, and support systems. Effective management practices that foster a positive culture and maintain trust are essential for mitigating negative outcomes and ensuring organizational resilience. The findings underscore that strategic, human-centered approaches to downsizing can transform potential disruptions into opportunities for renewal and sustainable growth.
